ShowMe Writers Masterclass

At the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO (or Mizzou, colloquially), Heather Tearney and Deb Sutton have been busily preparing for the third annual ShowMe Writers Masterclass to take place on October 28 and 29 in partnership between the Columbia Writers Guild and Mizzou Publishing.

The Masterclass will feature presentations and workshops from over 20 experts and authors including fiction writer and writing professor Trudy Lewis; award-winning filmmaker and former Program Director for the Chicago International Film Festival Susan Mroz; author and nonfiction professor Dinty W. Moore; filmmaker and animator Meghann Artes; author and teacher Maurice Broaddus; playwright, screenwriter, and actor Jim Henry; Nehmen-Kodner owner and designer Peggy Nehmen, and Editwright owner and editor Andrew Doty in addition to literary agents, a PitchFest, and round tables on topics like international perspectives, people of color, LGBTQ, and persons with disabilities.

Topics covered will include editing, poetry, playwriting/screenwriting, organic characterization, book design, writing mysteries, working with a children's book illustrator, marketing panel, sci-fi/fantasy, and more, so there’s something for everyone.
